The men involved were both Black and Tans at Gormanston who were RIC and not ADRIC

1921 Feb 23, Patrick Howard shot in a pub near Gormanston. George Stuart Pearson and George Smith were identified as being involved in the shooting. Pearson was found guilty and sentenced to death by hanging, which was commuted to life imprisonment

 

1922 He was released when his sentence was commuted

1924 Dec 23. Leaves UK for Australia. An Engineer of 10 Cowper Rd, Acton - same address as on his Irish Prison records

1925 - 1963 He is on Australian Electoral Rolls until 1963 at Enoggera, Queensland. He was living with Violet Pearson

1939 Oct 20 Enlisted in Australian Army

1948 Feb 27 Discharged from army as a Private
