1918 Jul 29. MC Gazetted . 2nd Lt. George Henry Arrowsmith, N. Lan. R. and M.G. Corps. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. In a critical situation, when the Infantry were retiring, he advanced his machine guns well forward so as to obtain direct fire at close range, doing great execution and disorganising the enemy attack.
