1889 Nov 8Born Devonport, Devon . William Nowell Brandwood. His father' name was William as well, and he was a soldier who was stationed in the West Indies for a while, where he married and returned eventually returned to the UK, where William was born. His father was born in the UK about 1857, and was a British Military Staff Clerk stationed in Jamaica at Up Park Camp in 1882, age 25 when he married Christina C Lopez. She resided with the family in Stoke Damerel, Devon, where she died in 1891, age 34.

1911 census at BRANDWOOD, William Noel was a Lance Corporal in 2nd Bn Leicestershire Regiment, at Fort St George, Madras, India.

1914 Oct 13. Landed in France

1918 Oct/Dec married Linda M Taylor at Leicester. William Nowel Brandwood

1919 May 12. Commissioned 2nd Lt

1920 Dec 29 Joins ADRIC with service no 1338. Posted to M Coy as Section Leader

1921 Jul 9. Posted to I Coy. Reverts to Temp Cadet. At own request

1922 Jan 18. Discharged at demobilisation of ADRIC

1939 Register. Livining at 36 Stoughton Street , Leicester with his wife Linda M. He is a Porter and Light Attendant

1966 Apr 20 died Leicester as William Howell Brandwood
