Robert Hamilton Ferguson, Indian Army

Given as Lt in Indian Army on joining ADRIC. The Indian Army man should be this man born 6 Jun 1888 in India. And the "Late Major Irish Guards" man in 1939 Register is born 1939. The chances of there being 2 men called Robert Hamilton Ferguson born 6 Jun 1888 is somewhat remote. But the Irish Guards man is a real Major in Irish Guards, so have to conclude that he is not the Indian Army man, but was born in India.

So our ADRIC man has to be someone else. ScotlandsPeople gives 5 "Robert H Ferguson" born 1887/1888/1889 and in fact there is a Robert Huntley Ferguson commissioned in IARO.
