1918 Jul 26. MC Gazetted. 2nd Lt. Francis Findlay, R. Scots. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. After a counter-attack had been stopped he reorganised his men, formed fresh platoons and sections, and established a fresh line which was held successfully till evening. Some days later he rendered valuable assistance in collecting and reorganising men who had lost their leaders, and throughout showed fine courage.
