1920 Nov 24. Joined ADRIC with service no 1100. Posted to J Coy

1921 Feb 25. Wounded at Coolavohig Ambush. Later awarded £200 compensation for his wounds

1921 Mar 30 . " Resigned " In fact it was to take up a Short Service RAF commission

1921 Apr 28 Commissioned Pilot Officer with short service commission

1921 Oct 28 Confirmed in rank of Pilot Officer in RAF on short service commission.

1922 Oct 28 Promoted Flying Officer

1941 Jan 1. OBE in New Year List, he was a WIng Commander, Acting Group Captain

1944 Mar 6. Equipment Branch . Retirement of Wg. Cdr. E. A. SLATER, O.B.E. (21036) (on account of ill-health).

1946 Aug 22 Died and buried Ryde New Cemetery CWGC
