T/Const William Thomas Brown

 

 

1878 Dec 15 Born Strood, Chatham, Kent son of Samuel & Charlotte Brown

1881 census living at Strood, Kent

1891 at Kent County Industrial School as a pupil. He had obviously done some wrong to end up there.

 

1892 Oct 5. Enlisted as a Boy Musician aged 14 years 8 months in Border Regt

1903 Aug 18. He appears to go to reserves-

1909 Married Annie Rose Peckham in Strood

1911 census living at Strood

I cannot see what happened to Annie Rose, as there is no death record. But it appears to be the same William T Brown who marries in 1914. None of the Ancestry trees have solved this one. Although there is a Private tree with his second marriage

1913 Aug 14 Discharged as unfit for further service. Lists his father Samuel as nok.

1914 Re-enlisted in Border Regt.He was the whole war in UK

1914 Dec 28 Married woman from London Florence E Head

1919 Feb 14. Discharged to Reserves as a Sgt

 

1920 Oct 1. Joined with RIC no 73722 & ADRIC no 67 & 323. ex-Soldier & Labourer

1920 Oct 1 Transferred to Gormanston

1920 Dec 13 Posted to Depot. Promoted Head Constable

1921 Feb 25 Permitted to resign

 

1939 Register living at 17 Furness Road, Fulham, a widowed painter & decorator. With sons Patrick L & Leonard R

1951 May 15. died ( cert in Service File)
