1898 Oct 25. Born Fulham , London England F W J Collier is on RIC roll and his year of birth coincides. He is born and dies John Frederick William. The implication is that he was illegitimate, as his mother is "single" in 1901 census, or she could have been divorced. I cannot work out who she is or what happens to her.

1916 Apr 5 Gets Flying Certificate from Beatty School.

1916 Dec 18. . Enlisted in RFC. His mother is his next of kin of Neville Rd, Coventry Violet Annie Williams (then Williams crossed out and Collier added)

His RAF O/R Record is "John Frederick William", but his Gazette entries are "Frederick William John"

1917 Feb 27. Commissioned

1917 Jun 15. Indian Army. The undermentioned temp. 2nd Lts. (on prob.), Gen. List, are confirmed in their rank: — F W J Collier
