1901 Census at Market Street, Ballymote, Sligo, His father was a Head Constable in RIC. And his father also joined the ADRIC James John Dobbin
1914 Nov 23. Enlisted in ASC in Belfast He was living with his parents John James and Minnie Dobbin, at 94 Clonard Gdns, Belfast. He was a clerk aged 19 This man is certainly the man on the census of 1901.
1918 Jun 17. Discharged "no longer fit for military service"
1921 Jan 5 . Joined ADRIC with service no 1431 . L/Corporal J.J. Dobbin and was posted to "Depot" Company.
1921 Jun 4. He was transferred to "Z" Company
1921 Sep 22. He was struck off strength, when he became a Permanent Cadet in the R.I.C.
