1914 Sep 21. Attested to CEF in Canada. Father J T Higgins, 1 Park Place, Dublin. He is a Clerk, and has spent 2 years in OTC

1914 Dec 12. Commissioned

1915 Oct 6. Landed in France

1920 Feb 10. R. Ir. Fus. Temp. Lt. G. G. Higgins relinquishes his commission on completion of service, and retains the rank of Lt.

1920 May 8. I was looking through some old documents and found a letter to my grandfather from a company in London, Cox and Co., Charing Cross Road. It is dated May 8, 1920, and indicates that in response to a communication from my grandfather, the sum of 750 rupees will be sent to a certain Lieutenant FJ Ashe, Irish Fusiliers in Bombay. Ashe's MIC just gives John Francis Ashe and an address at 19 Chisilton Road, Fulham. But his RAF record which links him to R Irish Fusiliers shows his next of kin at Palace View, Tuam, Galway, and shows him to be the son of a RIC constable.

1920 Dec 22. Joined ADRIC with service no 1318. But never arrived. No other posting on Alphabetic Register. Not on Numeric register

1926 Apr 26 Arrives in Canada from UK.

1930 Aug 8 Married Violet Mabel Morgan in Toronto

1963 Living in London, Ontario

1971 Dec 30. Died Canada. (family source)
