1919 Aug 23. Lt. G. W. Holland retires, receiving a gratuity.

1920 Nov 8 Joined ADRIC with service no 991. Posted to H Coy

I think the family was in Ireland in 1921 census

1921 May 5. "Resignation accepted after 6 months service"

1921 Oct 25. Rejoined with same no.

1921 Oct 29. Posted to A Coy

1922 Jan 18. Discharged on demobilisation of ADRIC

Portland Prison, the address on the MIC, was converted to a Borstal Institution in 1921. I assume he became a warder there rather than an inmate

1939 Register. Living at 32 Sandford Road , Chelmsford with wife Margaret May. He is a Principal Officer, Prison. A Civil Servant b 10 Oct 1888.

1940 Jan 6. G W Holland, housemaster at Chelmsford Prison, is transferred to Wakefield Prison

1947 Aug 9. He is noted as assistant governor of Wakefield Prison

1959 Jan/Mar died Hastings (DC would be needed to prove it) His widow margaret May died in Hastings in Oct/Dec 1976
