1897 Jul 9 Born Malta (Ancestry tree gives this date as well and his mother was Maltese, Helena Mizzi - as I cannot find them in UK censuses, I assume that they were probably in Malta). His father was Herbert Edward Hoole who seems to have left UK around 1878 for South Africa, and never resurfaces. Helena Hoole (Mizzi) died in Malta in 1939
