Lt. Charles Norman James, RAF

1899 Jan 25. Born Bootham, York, Yorkshire (RAF says 25 Jan 1899, death says 25 Jan 1900, BMD says Jan/Mar 1899 which is the correct one) He was registered as Charles Norman James. I cannot find him in 1901 census, and a mystery how he ends up "adopted" in Worksop in 1911. Anyone wanting to solve it would have to start by getting the Birth Cert to see the parents. He is registered as "Charles Norman James" His RAF record gives Alice Mary Parker as his adoptive mother.

1911 census at 2 Market Street Worksop. Adopted by David Pritty. Not an obvious candidate for an adoptive parent. However Alice Mary Parker is his daughter on the census. My assumption would be that she was his natural mother
