1918 Jun 25. He was discharged having been granted a commission.

1919 Dec 26. Oxf. & Bucks. L.I. Temp. 2nd Lt. H. Kemp, M.M., to be temp. Lt. It would appear that he went back into the army to serve in North Russia

1920 Feb 18. Oxf. and Bucks. L.I. Temp. Lt. H. Kemp, M.M., relinquishes his commission on completion of service, 18 Feb. 1920, and retains the rank of Lt.

1920 Aug 20 Joined ADRIC with service no 304. A member of 'J' Company,

1921 Feb 13. The local IRA mounted an attack on the auxiliaries using the Billiard Room on the ground floor of the Macroom Town Hall. IRA men John Crowley, Jimmy Murphy, Dennis Kelleher were the men attacking. They threw 2 bombs through the window and opened fire. They wounded 3 Auxiliaries. From the compensation claims the wounded were T/C Harvey Kemp £600, T/C Jennings £200, T/C Matson £150
