Adolphus Stanley Richard de Leschery was born in 1896 of Swiss parents.  Adolphus Stanley's father was Waldemar Richard-dit-Leschery and his mother was Marie Laure Bridel.  His maternal grandparents were Eugene Charles Bridel (Schwab) and Marie Ann Wermuth. He has four brothers named Dieudonné Herbert, Charles Henry Gordon, Devic Gerald and Roger George.  He is the second oldest of the five children.

1918 Sep 3. Having spent most of this period in hospital he was struck off. But refused a SWB on the grounds of "No Disability"

1920 Nov 10. Joined ADRIC with service no 1011 . Posted to H Coy.

1922 Jan 13. Discharged on demobilisation of ADRIC
