1899 Jun 8 Born RAF Record (address as on MIC) Lanark

1911 census at 88 Napiershall St, Glasgow

He was a motor engineer with SH Simons of Glasgow before enlisting (RAF Record) from Dec 1916 to Jun 1917

1917 Oct 21. Commissioned in RAF as 2nd Lt on probation.

1918 May 4. Relinquishes his RAF commission and transfers to Gloucs Regt

1920 Sep 10 Joined ADRIC with service no 536. Posted to D Coy

1920 Dec 24 Admitted Galway Civil Hospital

1921 Jan 28. Struck of strength "Absentee"

He may have served in Palestine .

1934 Jan/Mar married Ione Evans - Freke nee Thorne in London .They divorced sometime later. There were no children by this marriage

1936 May 15. Living in Farnham Common, Bucks

1948 married Evelyn Green in Midhurst W Sussex.They had one daughter,in 1949 in the UK.They then moved to Melbourne 1950 had 4 more children . A daughter wrote to me He gave us to believe he served in the second world war and was seconded to the Egyptian army but I have found no records to support this.

1964 Jul 7 he died in Australia .He led the family to believe he was in the Royal Artillery in WW 2.
