1894 His father died. And his mother probably dies in 1895 (right age)
1901 census at Clewer, Berkshire, England. Inmate St Augustines boys home. St. Augustine's was an Anglican charity home for orphans and "other" cases, and presumably the regime was tough as they so often were in those places.

1914 Aug 24 Married Margaret Murphy. He was based in Abbeyleix Laois at one stage. School teacher who married in Tullow Carlow Ireland in 1914. They had at least 1 child Gladys Oliver maybe more. Think they moved to Southampton Hampshire. It is on Irish GRO Jul/Sep 1914. I cannot find a death of her in Ireland nor in England
1919. He was commissioned according to WO338 under the provisions of Army Order 42 of 1919. Officer Cadets who were still under training at cessation of hostilities and the Officer Cadet Battalions were disbanded were given temporary commissions as 2nd Lts 'under the provisions of the Royal Warrant dated 30th December 1918, promulgated in Army Order 42 of 1919'. 1980 Mar 1. Died Southampton, Hampshire age 90 and Gladys Irene Smith registered his death (his daughter). The death cert gives right date of birth, but has Dorset rather than Surrey as his birthplace. His parents in fact came from Dorset.. The marriage cert gives his father and that links to Surrey birth on census and GRO. I think his daughter just assumed he was born in Dorset.
