1919 Dec 3 Commission 2nd Lt in London Regt.

1921 Sep 1 Relinquished his commission as 2nd Lt in Royal Fusiliers

1920 Oct 14. Joined ADRIC with Service no 729. Posted to I Coy. His father is living at Howley Place, Paddington, London W2 (an expensive looking house) but I cannot get a 1911 census connection to that address.

1920 Dec 21 to 3 Jan 1921 on Leave

1921 Jul 14 to 27 Jul on Leave

1922 Jan 17. Discharged on demobilisation of ADRIC

1926 Jan 18 Enlisted in Tanks Corps as a Private

1928 Feb 2. Discharged from Army. The Regulation used implies that he was a deserter. He claims to have a wife

1929 Living with Margaret Elizabeth Walker in Whiteheads Grove, Chelsea (as in press cutting)

1935 He is living with Margaret Elizabeth Walker and Frank Essington Walker (his father) in Paddington

1939 Electoral Roll with his "wife" Hilda Florence at Brondesbury Villas, Kilburn

Hilda Florence Steeles never married him. She married Arthur William Mumford in 1922 (he did not die until 1971) & was still with him in 1937 in Paddington

1939 Register. Living at 3 Bristol Gardens , Paddington, London, with wife Hilda. He is a Warehouseman

1944 His "widow " remarried in Bedfordshire to French. She was Hilda Florence Steeles/Mumford. She must hae divorced Mumford, in as much as she use it at her re-marriage

I cannot get our man anywhere after 1939 register, but note Hilde Florence re-married in 1944
