1897 Feb 3. Born Barton Regis, Gloucs. Son of Elward (sic) Fawcett White and Sarah Elizabeth Hawkins. Apparently Elward hated his name and went by his middle name, Fawcett. Enfield was always known as Jack in the family. Elward was carrying on his own father's bizarre custom of calling his children with names beginning with 'E' (often usual), after the third one, Enfield, Sarah put her foot down regarding this, declared Enfield would be known as Jack and following children did not have the first initial E.
