I started to believe that this must be a mistranscription "N Chard". It is a "V",one should be able to find him but nothing comes up. Then I found "V Chard" who has a MM and is cited in an ADRIC photo as "V Chard". The MICs then lead eventually to Ernest Frederick Victor Chard
