He went to school at Foyle College

1911 Census. His father is alone in Londonderry. I cannot find mother or himself.

1915 Feb 19. Enlists in 3/6 Black Watch.

1916 Sep 3. He gets dismissed for being under age.

1916 Dec 5. Enlists in 19th Royal Irish Rifles and served with BEF for 3 months. His record shows that he only served 3 months outside UK

1917 Nov 1. Promoted Corporal

1918 May 1. Commissioned into 3rd Battalion Leinster Regt.

1918 Jun 11. Hospital with gonorrhoea

1919 Feb 6. Judged cured and order to return to unit.

1919 Nov 1. Leinster Regt. Temp 2nd Lt promoted Temp Lt.

1919 Nov 9. Leinster Regt. Relinquishes his commission on completion of service and retains the rank of Lt

1920 Oct 27 joined RIC no. 890 ADRIC. Posted to Depot Coy. (next of kin his Mother at address on his MIC)

1920 Dec 18 to ? Jan 1921 on Leave

1921 Mar 28. Posted to F Coy.

1921 Jul 8 to 22 Jul on Leave

1921 Oct 15 to 29 on Leave

1922 Jan 17. Discharged on demobilisation of ADRIC.

1922 Mar 29. Joined the British Gendarmerie section of the Palestine Police as a Constable.

1923 Jun 3 Arrives in UK from Port Said. Palestine Police.

1923 Aug 23 Leaves UK for Port Said. Palestine Gendarmerie

1926 May 7. Applies to Crown Agents for an overseas position
