1918 Nov 4. Action for which he earned MC (gazetted citation 10 Dec 1919) Lt. Godfrey Marcus Goodbody, R.F.A., Spec. Res., attd. C./59th Bde. For conspicuous gallantry in command of an advanced section of guns on 4th November 1918, at Sebourg, when he displayed great courage and initiative in engaging the enemy at close range. On the 10th November, at Havay, he brought his guns into action in the infantry firing line, and engaged the hostile infantry over open sights, causing many casualties, and successfully withdrew his guns whilst under fire from the enemy's artillery
