1937 Jan 7. Died in Harrow Road, Warlingham, Surrey Upper Warlingham Aerodrome, Croydon, Surrey. He was a mechanic employed by Charles Gardener who had won the previous years Kings Cup air race. The death is given in a Ancestry Tree with only 11 people, so I assume he has the details correct.

G-AEPX was the brainchild of Mr Richard Taylor and it was truly experimental. It was a tandem two seater, constructed in metal but covered with fabric. Built in 1936, its novel features included:

•   the untried 50 hp Weir Pixie four cylinder inline engine
•   a semi-geodetic fuselage
•   a cantilever wing (i.e. without lift struts)
•   wing spars comprising twin metal tubes braced only at their extremes
