1911 Mar 16 Joins Gold Coast Tarkwah Freemasons Lodge. He was an Engineer. He is excluded under rule 175 in Oct/Dec 1913. I think this means he was blackballed by 2 or 3 members when he tries to renew membership

1915 Jun 18 Arrives UK from Gold Coast

1918 Nov 2. The undermentioned Cadets to be temp. 2nd Lts.:Tank Corps. 2 Nov. 1918.

1919 Dec 21. Temp. 2nd Lt. W. A. Burton relinquishes his commission on completion of service, and retains the rank of 2nd Lt

1939 Register. There is a William E Burton with exact dob at 10 East Street, Middlesbrough. He is a dock labourer. It dos not look like him, but there is a possibility
